About PED Approved Fasteners
PED-certified fasteners produced at fas10 are used for pressure equipment such as pressure vessels, steam boilers, piping, safety accessories, pressure accessories, and assemblies with an allowable pressure greater than 0.5 bar. Examples of this type of equipment include pressure vessels.
The name “Pressure Equipment Directive” is given to the directive that the European Union passed in 2014/68/EU (PED). Directive 97/23/EC of the European Community brought its first implementation into force in 1999. In the market, “pressure equipment” may refer to various items, such as piping, different safety accessories, and multiple actuators (valves, flow meters, etc.).
Pressure equipment is designed for no risk to any person’s health, safety, or property due to pressure, being operated and maintained by the provisions of the Act. The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) outlines the essential health and safety requirements that must be satisfied during all manufacturing stages for pressure equipment subjected to a maximum permitted pressure (PS) of more than 0.5 bar. It includes the design phase, production, and conformity testing phases.
